In October 2025 H.O.M.E partnered with Relief Crew to begin the construction of our Junior High School. Relief Crew connect non-profits that can benefit from the practical skills of yacht crew. We have been lucky enough to have them in Kokrobite continuing their amazing work with us, providing a safe and resourceful Junior High School for the kids!

Phase 1 consisted of knocking down our previous building, digging and laying the foundations for the new school and carrying and laying multiple truck loads of concrete bricks to start the build. The vision was starting to come to life!

In between Phase 1 and Phase 2, our local team on the ground worked incredibly hard to continue building and they completed the ground floor classrooms.

Phase 2 focused on making those ground floor classrooms functional. Walls were sanded, plastered and painted. Doors, lights and fans were fitted. Desks and chairs were built. We finally opened the classroom doors to our three JHS classes! In the meantime, the first floor was well underway!

In between Phase 2 and Phase 3, our local team have made incredible progress to complete the building works before the peak of the wet season here in Ghana. We have now just welcomed the third phase of Relief Crew volunteers and we can’t wait to see all 7 classrooms, our bathrooms, kitchen and office complete.
